Canon Eric Beresford
Fr. Eric’s time at the Church of St. Mary Magdalene was all too short, and just a portion of his significant contribution to the Anglican Church of Canada. We want to honour his outstanding leadership.
Our mission at the Church of St. Mary Magdalene is to advance what Fr. Eric stood for - inspiring worship, thought-provoking sermons and teaching, and music’s deepening of religious experience. The video below presents a message made just days before his sudden and untimely death.
Fr. Eric’s Requiem Mass brought friends and colleagues from many parts of Canada and beyond.
More than 250 persons and another thousand online joined us for his Requiem. Many of you informed us of experiencing difficulty in hearing its words and music. Ongoing challenges with the warmth, intelligibility and ease of operation of sound in our 137 year old church building were real concerns of Fr. Eric himself. We offer daily eucharists as well as opening our building for other community performances and events.
